In the center: the Laankwartier of Klaus en Caan architects, one of the five new neighbourhoods, currently in course of construction, on the Rotterdam peninsula of Katendrecht. In the front: river boats moored in the Maashaven harbour basin. Behind the Laankwartier: Poseidon and Neptunus, two residential towers of architctural office DKV (Dolf Dobbelaar, Herman de Kovel en Paul de Vroom). On the right of them: the so-called Maas en Rijn Flat (1989) of Mecanoo Architects. On the right of the Maas en Rijn Flat: the cranes of the newly built Lloyd Kwartier residential area on the north bank of the river Maas / Meuse. Photo shot from the Maashaven Oostzijde.
